Fight scenes are fun.
They’re especially fun when I can keep them to a single comic page. I honestly think this is one of my best 🙂
So on the return from America recently my Cintiq had it’s screen cracked. This was a bit of a blow… see I have drawn every page on that cintiq since page 116. It was actually emotionally a low moment, even though I’d been thinking I’d need to take the jump soon and upgrade (the romantic part of me likes to think that my 12WX saw I was having difficulty making the upgrade and so nobly sacrificed itself to make the choice easier for me). So I now have a brand new 13HD which I’m still getting used to… but as part of the getting used to process I decided to redraw the first thing I drew on the old 12WX.
And the 2017 redraw:
As you might have noticed the website has gone absolutely haywire. I recently (finally) managed to finish a couple of comic pages and went to start uploading them…. and for some reason the add-on to wordpress I’m using (comic press) is straight up refusing to upload any comic pages. Even old ones… so I tried disabling and re-enabling it…. and that made my whole website go to hell…
I’m trying to fix the problem but I honestly have no idea how…
I kinda used artistic license here, realistically Freija shouldn’t be able to look out of the locker like that since the metal flap would hide her eyes, buuut then I would have had to have gone with a picture of an exterior locker and that’s just boring isn’t it?
Re-reading this after having made it soooo long ago, it kind of feels a little bit forced? Does anyone else agree? I wanted to get across that these guys do not know Freija is around, and at the time I thought this worked…now I’m not so sure.
edit: News flash! I have an exam one week from now. I need to study a lot for it so I’ll be putting a lot of time into studying. This means no comics next week. Service will resume Monday after next. I’m really sorry about this, especially after skipping last monday but this is really important for me. Thanks for understanding.
I had some difficulty with the idea of the CCTV camera…I’ve seen a lot of it in film media, but because I’m unfamiliar to a surprising degree with Comics, I wasn’t entirely sure how to adapt it to this medium. In retrospect I could have added a frame in here that would have made that transition from the Rachel and Val to the security room more fluid. Oh well…
