So a quick thanks to everyone who wanted to check I was alright (yes I was actually at the Boston Marathon on Monday, fortunately I was not at the finish line). The entire event was quite the adventure, just getting out of town and back home was very difficult.
In other news, this is the first page where my art starts to take a decent direction…check out panel six 😛
It’s intresting how easy it is to be irreverant with dead bodies. Not that I’ve had any experience (yet) with recently deceased bodies. But I do remember the first time my university class was confronted by a real skeleton, and one or two people either pretended to gnaw on the bones or picked up the skull and did a form of “Alas poor yorik.”
Then again reflecting on this now, I realize that people tend to get past that stage very quickly. So Vals actions don’t really make sense in retrospect. Ah well that whats done is done.
Three drawing of the same thing! What’s going on here? Well back when I was vacationing in France I did many sketches. One of those is frame 1, which I Scanned in and cleaned up. But I wasn’t content with doing that, so I made a digital copy of it adding colour and backrounds and other such things. And again I was happy. Later I asked Darling Mionette on Deviant Art (Go check out her page! I can only dream of being as good an artist as her.) to redline the whole thing. After that I just had to sit down and redraw the damn thing to see just how good I could manage to make it. Several hours later I emerged with frame 3 as the finished product.
